What to do when friction crevice corrosion occurs during CNC machining of aluminum alloy

Jan 09, 2023Leave a message

We need to carry out appearance inspection on the aluminum alloy die-casting with poor defects to see if the surface of the casting has roughness on some parts.
The causes of friction crevice corrosion in the production and processing of aluminum alloy die castings are given:
(1) The position and shape of the ingate caused by the die-casting mold are not good;
(2) Insufficient water cooling at the position where the aluminum alloy profile liquid is strongly eroded at the inner runner caused by the forging standard.

The ways to deal with and avoid frictional crevice corrosion are:
(1) Improving the position and orientation of the inner runner;
(2) Improve the water cooling conditions, especially improve the location where the metal liquid is strongly eroded;
(3) Partially improve the coating for crevice corrosion;
(4) Adjust the water flow of the aluminum alloy liquid so that it does not cause cavitation
(5) Remove the aluminum alloy adhesion on the abrasive tool.
Friction crevice corrosion actually occurs in the production and processing of aluminum alloy die castings! Don't worry, you can effectively prevent such things from happening according to the left and right methods.
