2023 Injection Mold Industry Technology Introduction

Introduction to Injection Mold Technology: Injection molding is widely used as an effective and sustainable production method in the production process of products. In this process, plastic or other materials are heated and formed into the desired shape of the product through a closed mold.

Injection mold design principle: In the process of injection mold design, designers must determine the requirements of the product, product structure, accuracy, materials, tolerance fit, and process. In the design process, the following aspects need to be considered:

1. Mold design process: Starting from the design drawings, by understanding the products and materials, the structure of the mold is designed, suitable materials and tools are selected, and the mold is analyzed and verified.

2. Product requirements: Determine the size, shape, accuracy, and surface quality requirements of the product.

3. Tolerance fit: Determine the fit relationship between various parts of the mold to ensure the accuracy and stability of the product.

4. Structural design: Design the injection mold structure to achieve the desired shape of the product. The commonly used methods include mold block design and solid modeling.

5. Verification and correction: After completing the mold design, it must be verified and necessary corrections must be made to ensure that it meets the product requirements and quality standards.

Injection mold structure: The injection mold is composed of multiple parts, including the template, cavity, core, ejection mechanism, cooling system, side core pulling mechanism, electrical system, and interface.

Functions of each part:

1. Template: Its main function is to shape products and provide mold support.

2. Cavity: Its main function is to store plastic or other materials and provide molding space for the product.

3. Core: The main function is to form the main part of the product.

4. Ejection mechanism: The main function is to remove the product from the mold.

5. Cooling system: The main function is to quickly cool the product and prevent deformation.

6. Side core pulling mechanism: Its main function is to automatically open and close the core and pull the core during the injection process.

7. Electrical system: Its main function is to control the entire injection molding process.

8. Interface: The main function is to connect various parts together to ensure the stability and reliability of the entire mold.

Injection mold manufacturing process: The injection mold manufacturing process includes steps such as mold parts processing, assembly, mold testing, and debugging. During the processing, the following points need to be noted:

1. Material selection: Select appropriate materials according to the product requirements, such as steel, aluminum, copper, etc.

2. Processing difficulties and solutions: During the processing process, some difficult to solve problems may be encountered, such as deformation, cracks, wear, etc. To avoid these problems, processes such as heat treatment and polishing can be used to solve them.

3. Accuracy maintenance: During the manufacturing process, the machining accuracy of each component must be strictly controlled to ensure the accuracy and stability of the final product.

4. Heat treatment: In some cases, it may be necessary to perform heat treatment on mold parts to improve their hardness and wear resistance.

5. Coating: In order to prevent corrosion and improve the surface glossiness of the mold, the mold surface can be coated.
